Reforms - American or Indian ?

We know that in India we drive left, in US people drive on the right. Our electrical switches on downwards, theirs' upwards etc. etc.

But what about reforms, our reforms means deregulations, less governmental intervention and market pricing. The reforms that US is now talking of these days are different, US House passes landmark financial reform bill which actually means "The bill would impose tighter regulations on financial firms and reduce their profits. It would boost consumer protections, force banks to reduce risky trading and investing activities and set up a new government process for liquidating troubled financial firms." So we are moving their way and they are moving on ours';  Only time will tell which is a more robust model?
